Ministry of Justice registers Kabardino-Balkarian Regional Human Rights Centre

The public organization "Kabardino-Balkarian Regional Human Rights Centre" headed by Valery Khatazhukov was created by former members of the disbanded Kabardino-Balkarian branch of the movement "For Human Rights".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) included the Kabardino-Balkarian Public Human Rights Centre, which operated as a branch of the all-Russian public movement "For Human Rights", into the register of non-profit organizations performing functions of foreign agents. Members of the branch made the decision to disband the unit.

On September 7, the federal Ministry of Justice issued a certificate of registration for the Kabardino-Balkarian Regional Human Rights Centre. The new organization is headed by Valery Khatazhukov, the former head of the branch.

Zapravakbr.ru, the official website of the branch "For Human Rights", was also included into the new human rights centre. The Kabardino-Balkaria Regional Human Rights Centre plans to organize a press conference to announce the main activities of the new organization, the website of the Centre reports.
